Dear Matthew,
Tonight I read the pink sheet you brought home. On the sheet were your friends words about you.
Throught their words I could tell they like you a lot and to them you are a nice, fun, and smart boy, who is popular among friends and vert good at soccer.
You know, when I was reading those words I had a big smile on my face; because I know my little Matthew is doing well and well loved at school and I'm very proud!
Matthew, does Mommy make you feel that you are not smart? If I made you feel this way, I'm very sorry. To me, you are a very smart boy, so I think you can do better and that's why sometimes I have higher expectation from you. Because I know you can do it.
Do you think Mommy likes Emily more than you? If you think like that then you are wrong! You are very special to me, because you are my first child.
Because of you, I've become a better, responsible person. Because of you, we have a family.
Because of you, we have Emily. Because of you, Nanna, Bomppa, Papa and Popo can be grand parents.
You have changed us in a very special way, and for that I want to thank you!
Matthew, would you like to help Mommy to know you better? Would you like to share your happiness and sadness with me?
I really want to know you more. Mommy will be here waiting when you are ready to share yourself with me.
